WhiteLight's Photo Thread

Lol...
I wanted to name this as 'ways not to take a photograph'
In the pyramid (where these photos were taken)
A) photography is not allowed so it had to be a quick one
B) footwear not allowed in the complex
C) it was just after sun rise Sooooooo no lens hood :)

I did actually take the lamp post off the picture but somehow I felt it added something to the pic.. Will post the one without the lamp post once I get home, you let me know what you think!

Sent from my HTC Incredible S using Tapatalk 2

So along with all the other infractions you were shooting in a restricted zone. You are in big trouble now.

Only because I know it, I like the lamp in the picture. The picture reminds me of an jungle or something, so I think the lamp gives it a twist.

But both versions are very, very nice. And I dont ever were my strap around the neck ;-)

What is the function of the Pyramid?

And, if you spent less time and money on photographic equipment, you'd have time to shave and money for shoes! ;)

Pyramid's are considered to be store houses & instruments for channeling energy...
This pyramid was constructed in line to the dimensions of the Giza Pyramids - on the same scale of dimension, facing the same direction, placement of various chambers within, etc...
It is mainly a spiritual center where people meditation as it is known that meditation imnside a pyramid is easier, better & has positive effects on the body and mind.

So, is the pyramid part of the Hindi culture? If so, it's interesting that there's a tie to Egypt. (At least to those of us that are uneducated about such facts.)

I guess you meant hindu culture ;)
Hindi is just another language...

Well there are a lot f similarities between the two.. (in fact between most religions if we look deep enough)
but Hinduism and recently buddhism believes that mediation or exercise for the mind is the way to go forward..

Egyptians did believe in the same, in fact they had chambers which were devoid of any type of sound, scent, visuals, etc..
this was called as the deprivation chamber, where (it is believed) that ppl were under water so they could not hear any sound, see anything, or even sense touch...
they basically were deprived of all their senses except their minds...
so meditation in these chambers were believed to be ten times as powerful...

So over the weekend the wife and i took a small drive down to a town called 'Alleppey'.
This is a localized word for the real name - Alappuzzha... :)
Pronounced as Al-a-purra.. which is known as 'the Venice of the East' due to extremely beautiful back waters of the Arabian Sea
This is in Kerala, which is known as 'God's own country' Situated to the South of Bangalore, the drive was exactly 600kms from here.
(For those who are interested, these are the GPS coordinates -

9.49°N 76.33°E)

May is considered to be the 'off season' as this part of the world really heats up at over 40 degrees C.

After a 10 hour drive,we were greeted by this....

A ROOM WITH A VIEW

So just to give some perspective -
These are some antiques kept on display at random spots in the hotel..
This box actually did give a very eerie feeling.. and the title of the pic is what immediately came to my mind..
And no.. she isn't there.. i did peep inside, just darkness :p
