This may come from the specular light cutting the subject in halves!

I think it's time for you to move to off-camera flash!

Yep definitely.. but in this shot i had to do a bit of a circus cos this chap was on a plant in my neighbor's house...
and i was leaning over my compound & shooting through live view as he was far off... and it was just at around sunrise...
better attempt next time i hope

Alright! Yesterday i happened to visit 'Lalbagh - A botanical Garden'
It's the largest Garden in Bangalore & twice every year during the Indian Independence Day & Republic day they host a Flower show.
August 15th is Indian Independence Day so for 2 weeks Flowers will be exhibited.
Lalbagh literally means 'Red Garden' in English & it spreads across 18 acres of land in the heart of Bangalore city.

So hope you guys are ready for a show of Flowers! :)

This is the 'Glass House' which is the main display area.
Sorry about the tight pic, but the 105mm was the only lens i carried with me :)
In the middle of the arch (behind the glass), you can see a statue kind of thing.
The Asoka pillar is the 'Emblem of India'

Nice shots. So why did you decide on only carrying the 105?

Hmmm...
1 - I had never had an opportunity to do flower photography with the 105 before (not that i did a lot of it before that :p)
2- i had just gotten back from a 11 hour work shift & i was already busted... The place gets REALLY crowded.. so wouldn't have time or space or energy to change lenses & stuff

Good reasons. Since I had the surgery on the shoulder I have only been carrying one lens with me most of the time. That is why I got the 18-105. It has been a great walk-around lens. I just wish it did macro.

I usually carry a spare lens on a key chain clip attached to lens bag strap and hooked on my belt loop, easier than a bag
