Which system will have better IQ and usability.

I own a D5200 with a sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 lens. I am thinking of putting a sigma 2x teleconverter on it. Another idea is to purchase the Tamron 150-600mm lens instead. Other than the obvious 400mm versus 600mm difference, which will have better IQ and better lower light usability? I am very happy with the IQ of the 70-200mm lens, How bad will it get with a teleconverter? I like the idea of only spending $400 as to spending $1500, but IQ means a lot..

The Tamron lens is "only" $1069, except there are none to be had. Some day maybe?

Dunno, but I'd bet on it over a 2x teleconverter.
