Which one to choose? Nikon d3300 or d5200?

The NEF in D3300 is loss less compression.

In jpeg, unless the quality is 100%, it is lossy. 100% is lossless, in fact not compressed at all.

Video compression is in general lossy. Else a 5 minute HD 60P sequence will be 2x60*300MB = 36G pixels, or 3x36=108GB. One hour will go beyond a Terra Byte. The transfer rate will be 360MB/sec, beyond most but very high speed storage.
- 2 ~ no mega pixels per frame (MP)
- 60 = frames per second
- 300 = seconds in 5 minutes
As there are 3 colours, there are 3 bytes per pixel.

with D5xxx series you also have
. 14 bit RAW compared to 12 bit
. Slightly more DR, at least D5300 vs D3300.
. Swivel screen.

In my opinion it is not worth buying older technology. Newer one (D5300, D3300) have
. Better high ISO
. Faster processor, hence faster burst speed
. Faster video

As the price of D5200 and D3300 is nearly same, I prefer D3300

That is not really going to work unless you can compare the same image taken with the 2 cameras. Also post processing comes into play as well.
Here's an article where a Canon user (bear with me) ripped out the OLPF on his 5D Mark III. Same exact camera, shots taken before, and after, the surgery show a dramatic difference in sharpness. In short, people ARE talking about removing OLPF's, you just have to look.
