Actually, my first camera is the D300 and my backup is the D600. Why that order..?? I only just bought the D600 the other day whereas I have owned the D300 for the past 4+ years and I didn't realize just how experienced I had become with it until 2 days ago when I used the D600 for the first time, realizing that I have to get broken in to this camera. With the D300, give me a subject and I will shoot, virtually without even having to think. The D600 will take a few more shoots to get used to...
In a few days time I have an important meeting coming up, a national championship of a particular group of hobbyists, and I have become over the past few years, the default photographer of the event. I have always used the D300 with some amazing results for those concerned, and it's on again this weekend so I may have to still resort to the D300 and slip in the D600 every now and then. I don't want to make any cockups for this event as a few of the shots work themselves onto the internet over various sites. I am sure many of you also fall into a similar slot in your photographical lifestyle...
