Coolpix S3100. My first Nikon. BTW, my cell phone is just that - a cell phone, no camera. Maybe someday I'll upgrade.

Re: What's Your Back-Up Camera ??.

Actually, my first camera is the D300 and my backup is the D600. Why that order..?? I only just bought the D600 the other day whereas I have owned the D300 for the past 4+ years and I didn't realize just how experienced I had become with it until 2 days ago when I used the D600 for the first time, realizing that I have to get broken in to this camera. With the D300, give me a subject and I will shoot, virtually without even having to think. The D600 will take a few more shoots to get used to...

In a few days time I have an important meeting coming up, a national championship of a particular group of hobbyists, and I have become over the past few years, the default photographer of the event. I have always used the D300 with some amazing results for those concerned, and it's on again this weekend so I may have to still resort to the D300 and slip in the D600 every now and then. I don't want to make any cockups for this event as a few of the shots work themselves onto the internet over various sites. I am sure many of you also fall into a similar slot in your photographical lifestyle...

Fuijfilm XP30 (waterproof, dustproof, impact resistant) because I'm a clumbsy git.. and the phone has a half 8mp snapper if the camera bag isn't at arms length..
