Take photos that are normally ruined by light pollution.

Very nice. Was that the Nikon 14mm f/2.8?

Thanks, I used the Rokinon 14mm f/2.8

Cheers mate :)

A great shot Scott. Shame we hardly get amount power cuts in the uk. But I have some dark skies down here in Cornwall :)

Yeah this one was a planned one but I still only decided at the last minute to go out and grab that photo.

The problem is we need dark and clear skies at the same time in the UK. This doesn't happen too often...

Great shot, Scott! Excellent composition, taking these trees into account.

Hmmm... Do you have the full resolution image somewhere I could look at? I was considering the Sigma 10-20 f3.5, but picking up an extra stop would be nice. So the focus ring... you just turn it to infinity and it is actually focused on infinity?

Thanks!

BTW... is this the chipped version of this lens?

You cannot hope that infinity is infinity, I didn't try hard to get sharp focus as it was just a quick snap. I do roughly know where infinity is though. I have many others that I have taken and am quite happy with the IQ, there is some distortion but this is easily fixed in LR.

This looks identical to the Samyang. Do you know if that is true?

Yeah distortion is not something I'm concerned about... only sharpness and CA, and SLRGear says this lens is pretty stellar at both.
