What sort of display and size are you using?

So I have upgraded my PC and will have to wait about 10-15 days for delivery on that. I just planned for continuing to use the same display, which is a 23-inch 1080P display, a bit wider than 16:9 ratio. Really it is a common HP LCD monitor from 18 years ago with a generic badge.

Today also on Woot.com is about a dozen displays for sale. They are available for some days to come, so no rush to buy. I am ignoring all the FHD (1080P) displays as that does not provide an upgrade. But there is a Samsung 34-inch ultra-wide (21:9) WQHD (1440P vertical resolution). That is a real upgrade and does interest me.

Am I currently about average in display hardware? This monitor is years older than my TV, and uses uses the old fluorescent panel lighting and not the LED illumination that is now the standard. What are you using right now?

I'm currently using an HP 27mq. I believe it is 2560x1440. It's not the biggest out there, but seems to be adequate size wise for me. It beats the heck out of the laptop monitor, and allows more leeway in adjustment of color, tint etc. I've had it for a couple years now, and am very satisfied with it. I didn't do a lot of research at the time, just went to Best Buy and picked what seemed like the best bang for the buck.
