For my needs, i.e lengthy portraiture, sports and wildlife, it's just the best all-rounder you can get imho. Tack sharp at both ends and built like a brick sh*thouse.![]()
I do on occasion use 1/30th in dimly lit conditions and with the VR having four stops capability this gives me the equivalent of 1/250. Plenty good enough with VRII.
The VR on the 70-200 deals with any potential camera shake admirably. I rarely go below 1/80th unless the image I'm trying to construct depicts that I use a slower SS.
