What is the origin and/or meaning of your handle?

Mine is just my initials. I use it on all the forums I'm on, except the annoying ones that don't let you have a username as short as three characters. Just works out that it looks like Mr. F as well (any Arrested Development fans?). I like to think of it like Mr. T, just cooler.

Tracsoft was the first major software program I wrote. Handled all the OSHA reporting and compliance requirements for large companies and cities. The rest of my name was given to me by my parents

Eh...
1st 10 years in the army I was in Armored Cavalry Units... so I took the Panzer from that.
Last 7 years I've been in Airborne Infantry units and took the ABN from that...

Put them together... Tada! ABN Panzer.

I have been collecting watches for some time and my intention is to keep it to 72. Why 72? - it is about what I can handle "domestically" and "financially" - anymore I will be out on the streets on both counts as well.

I have the Hamilton watch my Mom gave my Dad as a wedding present back in 1957. The case and hands are solid 16K gold, as are the numbers on the face. It still has the original crytal and is in pristine condition. Only the band has been replaced, and that was before 1979 when my Dad passed away.

I got a Seiko self-winding dive watch back in 1981 and paid $125 for it back then. It has been the only watch I ever wear diving, at least 350 dives since then. It is in perfect condition, the mineral crystal is still pristine, and the numbers still hold a "glow" for a good long time once subjected to bright light. Nearly every time I go to the dive shop to get my tanks refilled, someone offers me money for it. I have been offered as much as a grand for it, always just smiliing and telling them it is not for sale.

That is a very nice Hamilton but I think whats more is the sentimental value must be immeasurable.

In its heyday, Hamilton was the among the top pocket / wrist watch producers in US such as Elgin, Gruen and Waltham. With the arrival of quartz watches, most of the older brands have since overtaken by others, particularly those imported from Japan. But mechanical timepieces are making a come back and I believe Hamilton too is doing some newer pieces.

Seiko makes very reliable diving watch and good to know that you still have one that is serving duty since 1981.

Enjoy your watches and wear them in good health.

Yes, it will never leave my family, its sentimental value is priceless, especially since both of my parents are now gone. The back is engraved wth BKM JFM 8/10/57, their wedding date.

I shoot Fireworks (Display Fireworks in the business it is called) on a professional level does that count?
I used to shoot back in the 70's. I was involved in an accident that took a third of my calf off my left leg. Timing fuse and main fuse were crossed.. and we used to manually light those things back then... no computers. The mortar opened up and I got hit with shrapnel.

I got Deezey as a nickname from a night of drinking with friends. Nothing fancy....but I have been stuck with it now for years.

Being a diver myself, I know what you mean about having a favourite dive watch. I have two....one is a Tissot and the other is a brand name you've probably never heard of...Momentum, rated for 200 meters.

My first name is Barbara and I play the great highland bagpipe.
Awesome! :) My mom was a Scot from Glasgow so I grew up with a somewhat Scottish heritage (my dad was French from Quebec City). I keep a CD in my Escape of Scottish tattoos. Drives people nuts on warm summer days when I keep the windows down! LOL :) I love the skurl of the pipes! :)

I thought my handle was pretty obvious.....it means I like tofu and sardine sandwiches. ;)

Seriously, it's because my name is Jack and I LOVE foto-graphy. :)
