Long, hot day at the department. Saw a load of good pictures to take, but never with my camera in hand. Some hummers and a saucy towhee will have to do.
A treefull of waxwings were chattering away as the fog cleared. I took this shot, glance down at my settings for less than a second, but when I looked back up, every one was gone.
