missed 2 thrashers, one today, jumped into the shadows before i could get a shot of and yesterday he was kicking up the dirt running away from me.

They are nervous sorts; this is the first I've caught on the ground and I was lucky to get a few shots in focus. There were a pair, he was looking for grubs and she was gathering nest twigs. They disappeared into a large, dense cleome bush, where I presume they are building. I'm going to check back and see if I can spot it next week.

After a lovely weekend, today is dark and cloudy, with periodic showers. The sun may yet break through, but in the mean time, I spotted this sweetie staying dry in the old cedar
