Awesome. How did you manage to get so close?
Thanks a lot. I spotted her on the branch and moved in as stealthily as I could (given I'm 6' 7" and had my tripod and big lens), but she spotted my movement and flew off to another tree up the creek. I have notice they, like hummingbirds, tend to have favorite spots to perch, so I took a chance and moved under a weeping willow close by, setting up right against the trunk. I had to wait about ten minutes till she got spooked by a jogger, then she flew back and landed on the same branch. The last time I tried it, she just laughed at me from across the lake for 20 minutes, so I'm pretty pleased it worked better this time. I posted a few more of her in the Birds thread.
