Four stunning shots , some kind of Heron ?

Thanks. They are green herons; a pair has been nesting at the arb for the last 5 years. Last year, they actually established 4 nests and had a clutch in each, but all the chcks were lost to predators (mostly a persistent black heron).

Always nice to start the day by finding something unexpected; first bloom on my Passiflora actinia

Wowee, stunning image.

Thanks. I find the oriole hard to shoot well. The yellow breast feathers are very fine and reflective, while the black seems to absorb the light. If you shoot based on one, it wipes out the other. Have to shoot for a lucky balance unless the light is really good. Some of the other folks here don't seem to have a problem with it, which is why I hate them all, all of them I tell ya, all of them!
