My wife saw the two flowers and complimented them.....and I like them too.....also the sequence of shots of the two birds wrestling around....I liked that. I was out the other day (without my camera) and saw two birds doing the same thing..., must be a mating ritual.

Thanks again -- the second flower, a Mojave mallow, is one of my favorites. As for the birds, well, I guess "wrestling" is as good a term as any. They literally fell right out of a tree and landed in front of me.

It looks like we may have some hawk chicks. I saw mom over the nest and she seemed to be regurgitating and feeding. Unfortunately, with the tree leafed out, it is tough to get a good view. After a bit she settled down and caught sight of me, at which point she started screeching

I came back a little later and found her being dive-bombed by a mockingbird. It dove in tight, short sweeps, knocking feathers loose. I tried to set focus and shoot a long burst to see if I could get lucky -- got this, which is sort of close
