I knew, as soon as I handed over the package at FedEx, it was going to happen. After a week of lackluster birds at the arb, today there were 6 varieties of warblers and several hummers leaf bathing by the creek, a kingfisher squawking in the big cedar, a red flicker pecking away in the redwood, and a Cooper's flying back and forth. For all that, I managed one lousy picture of a ruby crowned kinglet and a sleeping cormorant. Bah

Still getting used to the vagrancies and limitations of the 16-300. Focus seems to have gone very soft, even at short distance in good light. I will likely send it back after the 150-600 returns home.

I wondered why it was so quiet along the creek this morning.

how long will you be without the tamron wev???

I just checked and it is out for delivery to Tamron in Commack, NY. They promise a three day turn around, but we got the weekend and 4 days back, so probably next month.

Beginning to get the feeling back for the 16-300. Still not at all happy, but feeling a touch better.
