"Two Textures" – (Dangerspouse)'s Choice

A pic showing two different, distinct textures. Could be on the same object, or two different objects. Only two different textures. Something like beach and ocean or may brick and wood.

Let's see how creative you can be! Color, B&W, HDR...anything goes!

DO NOT SHOOT OR POST IMAGES UNTIL WEDNESDAY Nov. 30
This early announcement of the topic is to give a little think time, before the challenge begins. Photos must be taken and submitted between 00:00 UTC of the start date and 23:59 UTC of the end date.

The Rules

1. Any photo submitted for a monthly assignment must be taken using a Nikon Camera!

2. Any photo submitted for a weekly challenge must be taken during the dates specified in the challenge thread and taken by YOU! Please type below the image Camera used, the time and date the photo was taken. This must be done even if the image contains Exif data.

3. Any photo submitted for a weekly challenge must be taken during the dates specified in the challenge thread.

4. Only one photo entry per member for each week, unless otherwise noted.

5. All regularly active members of Nikonites are allowed to participate, including moderators and administrators.

Voting

During the submission & like periods, please click the Thanks/Like button to vote for your favorite images. You can vote for as many as you want! At the end of the week, you will have the opportunity to vote again for the top 3 photos for this challenge!

There will be no cash or prizes awarded for the Weekly Photo Challenges, unless specifically noted by the site administrator.

Any photo will be accepted for the challenge. Edited or straight out of the camera, it does not matter. You are left with complete freedom to do whatever genre of photography you wish to do, and your own interpretation of the challenge subject.

Please note - Rule 2 changed.

IMO WE SHOULD GO WITH THE HONOR SYSTEM.
EXIF CAN BE READ IF ANY HANKY-PANKY IS SUSPECTED.

Your opinion will be considered but for now please post the info. Actually the ask is that the Camera used, the time and date the photo was taken be posted not the EXIF. Not all images that are posted in the contests contain the data.

*giggle* - that means you, too, @Needa. Can you add the date please?

Do you see the Attach files below the post? Click on that, after your photo shows up, click insert, full size and it will enlarge.

I also think it has to resized to 1000 pixels on the long side. Not sure if that still applies on the new site.

@KarenbeBruyne; We are all getting used to a recent forum changeover :)

The "insert image" button is the one to add to a post - try this, choose edit on your post then see if you can select "full size" when clicking on the attachment. Or just add it back with the insert image - please "resize to 1000 pixels on the long side" (I just save a small one for the forum post).

Let us know if you need anything else

I went in and edited your post. Be sure to click on the pic and choose the option to insert Full Size before you submit your post to the forum.

I was initially thinking of using a cat on this surface that contrasts drastically in texture with a cat, but neither of my cats was in a cooperative mood. This pair of panties was much more cooperative than my cats, and has a few different textures in itself, all of which contrast just as well as a cat would with this rough concrete surface.

Some things can't be improved on. The mortar and pestle is one of the oldest cooking implements known to man, and it is still a frequently used tool in many kitchens, including mine. The rough unpolished interior of my black granite version will grind nuts, seeds, and spices almost as fast as any electric grinder I've ever owned. And the deep, smooth wooden one is perfect for pounding herbs and leafy things into a paste without tearing them. The perfect vessel for pesto, not surprising as that is what it's named after.

Taken 12.4.2022 at approx 6:15pm. Nikon D500, 18-55mm Nikkor AF-S DX f/3.5-5.6G at 32mm, f/9, 1/200th, ISO 100.
