Walkaround lens

I'm looking for a decent walkabout FX lens for my D610. A friend is lending me the Sigma A 24-105mm F/4 DG OS which on paper looks to do the business, but I'm keen to see if there are any recommendations from you good folk out there

I have a fixed 50mm and then jump to the Sigma 150-500, which means I'm with a monopod a lot of the time so need to fill that gap

Any steers to (or from) lenses gratefully read!
The Nikon 24-120mm f/4G ED VR comes to mind. I like the Sigma 24-105mm and it's probably a little bit better in the IQ department. And I do mean a "little bit"; as in you'd need to compare shots side by side. That being said, the Sigma is shorter on the long end, takes an 82mm filter and weighs considerably (IMO) more than Nikon's 24-120mm.

I am using the Nikon 24-120mm f4 as my walkabout lens, it works well on full frame and on APSC equates to 36mm - 180mm so a very useful lens.

It is a bit of a beast but delivers great IQ even wide open and the VR is superb.

I'm in the 24-120mm f4 and 70-300mm camp as my usual walk around/travel lenses. I might bring something else (the 16-35mm comes to mind) if I have a specific idea, but these are my usual walk about lenses.

If I'm working an event or know I'll need best low light, I'll trade out for the 24-70 f2.8 and 70-200 f2.8, but they aren't usually going on vacation with me or just a walk for random pictures.

Hi,
I also have used a 24-120 f4 as my walkaround lens.
I sold this lens and bought a Tamron 24-70 f2.8.
As my new walk around lens, I bought the Tamron 28-300 PZD lens.
To shoot in darker places and in town, I use the 24-70.
The 28-300 delivers really good pics with my D750 and is quite light when walking in the country side.

I used to use the 18-55 with my D5000. I liked it but I was frustrated with the short reach. I felt that I always had to have a longer lens with me as 55m was so close.

I switched to the Nikkor 18-105 3.5-5.6. I got it as a refurbished lens and have not issues. New its about $100 less that the 18-140.

I am now the proud owner of a Nikkor 24-120 f4 and it is the dogs doodahs! Thanks for the comments above, I was able to try the 24-120 as well as the Tamron 24-70 and opted for the Nikon just for the slightly longer reach!
