I really like what you did with both of those. You have a great eye and creativity I love seeing what you've come up with in your thread

150/364.......

It's raining. I tried and failed with some waterdrops. My inspiration is a little depleted at the moment, so I had to find something inside

I love this photo, but there's just something about the light that bothers me. Maybe lighten the sand in the background, and maybe the shadows in the palm and forearm a bit? I'm being hyper-critical here, I know. I just love the hand and find that those other elements distract me a little too much. Maybe darken the highlights in the first 2 fingers as well...

Hope you don't mind. It's a truly fine capture.

I don't mind at all Jake, but I think I still like mine best. It's all personal taste isn't it. I wanted to pull the hand out of the background so it didn't get lost in it so much, so feel it needs those stronger shadows and deeper colours.

You take fabulous shots and I take notice of your critiques and suggestions, so please continue to do so :D

I'm glad. There's something powerful about your edit, and there's a quality to the hand/arm that I'm very drawn to. Different strokes, which is what I love about this stuff.

It was a funny little shot. I knew what I wanted (and it was not quite this shot) but my partner and I have totally different brain processes, so I couldn't get it thru to him in a way he would understand, so in the end I just told him to keep picking up handfuls of sand and I would just snap off a few shots and we'd end up with one that was close. We got 2 shots that passed my requirements. I was quite happy with how it turned out :D

Great shots, Vixen.
Though I really like your first version of the sand-hand, I have to go with the B/W as well. It just goes very well with the mood of the shot, i think :)

Would have been nicer if I had caught it with it's wings open but it didn't hang around very long so this is all I got. I've been trying to catch one of these for ages :D
