In my visit to a Nature reserve I was a bit surprised with the red dots around this bud:

So I took out my Manfrotto flexarm and a pair of chop sticks to block the flower (high stem with lots of wind) so I could take this picture hand held.

I liked the composition, but it can not be used bigger then this (still have to get better at this). In the fields behind where I live:

Something else from holiday, it did not work (too much graveyard), then the colours did not work, black and white did not work, so came to this:

Thank you for that, I`m still going through the pictures of this year and it got my morale up.

Why is it beautiful? => I went this year on holiday to a region which is UNESCO world heritage for the unique landscape. Put your money in travelling to locations that allow you to take pictures.
What is my issue with the trip? => I had expected to work more with my filters, also expected to experiment with flash and find some wildlife. Nothing of that. Also a lot less time for photography then I hoped. However looking at the results, it was a very nice trip.

20150618-Dolomites overview.jpg seem to have more contrast after importing it here then on screen from the file.

Went out early, but there was already quite some light. This one was in the grass too far away, but no way to approach closer without making her run away.

Poppies and the set up, this is next to the EU institutions, in the middle of the main road and people are not used to see this:

Spider, it was facing the camera but while doing the set up it got disturbed and turned around, I left my set up but it never turned back in the right position:

I generally do not like pictures with an overview of flowers, so I thought about it when I saw these and concluded 2 sticking out which I could use on points of the rule of thirds:

Not clear how this is called in composition, but if you find anchor points for the rule of thirds I think it works.
