Heard that poachers are now scouting Flickr, Facebook, 500 px and such for the GPS info they find in photo-safari exit data... Any truth to that ?

I think there is truth to it as I have seen signs asking people not to use cameras with GPS capabilities in certain areas. The lengths people go to in order to feed those who believe crap.

Scott - leopards are notoriously shy animals.
When I was in the armed forces in Rhodesia (as it was then) we were given instructions on how to behave when confronted by all animals except one. That one was leopard.
The instructions for a leopard went something along the lines of "you won't ever see one unless they want to be seen and by then it will be too late!"
When confronted by an angry lion one should take 2 steps back and one to the side. Repeat until at a safe distance never taking your eyes off the lion.
The one step to the side was to avoid standing in your own mess! :)

Beautiful captures. Dream about an opportunity to shoot like that. Thanks for sharing with us!!

Great shots as always Scott, welcome back.

Cheers guys, I am only back for a short time though as am heading back over there next week for a few weeks (seeing girlfriends family in Capetown) and then heading out bush in the Northern Territory of Australia for a few weeks with my parents.

Well as some may know I have just gotten back from South Africa (once again). My girlfriend and I went to the Tshukudu Bush Lodge which I would highly recommend.

Here are a few of my shots.

White Rhino.

For my one of my recent college courses (yes old people go to college too), I did an essay and PowerPoint slide show on the white rhino... They are on the verge of extinction. That's very cool that you got these shots... How many were there? At the time of my essay, there were 3 left at the preserve and they were talking about merging the blood of the black and white rhino to make a hybrid so the white line would live on.

Excellent shots!

I was able to see leopards in Sabi Sabi around the same time as you were in South Africa.

This is my first DSLR so I can't take pics like you and have no idea how to post process but this is one of a baby leopard.
