Trying to solve the eyeglass fogging situation

I vaguely remember posting something about this a while back, but couldn't find anything with a search. Apologies in advance if I have already talked about this.

I had my annual eye exam today and asked the optometrist if there was anything out there that can prevent fogging on plastic lenses. Both he and the optical technician recommended Cat Crap. No, not a deep dive into the litter box, there's a product on the market named such. I tried cleaning with it after getting home, and it seems to help, but only a trip or two on a warm, humid morning will tell.

I have terrible problems with this at times, and I have tried several things, but nothing seemed to help. I can take my glasses off and readjust the viewfinder diopter, and see quite well without my glasses. Unfortunately, then I can't see any detail in the distance, which is an issue when trying to photograph animals in the wild.

I just wonder if anyone here has found a solution for this, or has used this product. I'll report back when I get a good test of it.

I've been using a neck fan and haven't had any issues with my glasses fogging. My photography buddy complains all the time about her glasses fogging.

They say to keep your bathroom mirror from fogging rub with bar soap.

Way, way, way, back my Dad would keep a sack of cigarette tobacco in his truck to
de-fog his windows.

You can read the posts on YouTube for fogging.

Eye surgery has come a long way toward fixing eye problems.

Glass is easy to de fog. For my dive mask I finally quit using the expensive products made specifically for masks, and started using liquid hand soap mixed with a little water. It worked great, was inexpensive and also worked very well as a lubricant for the wrist and neck seals of my dry suit. No need to dry everything off between dives and then using baby powder. As a plus, I found that baby powder would interfere with a good seal on my neoprene seals.

Plastic, on the other hand, is a bear to de fog. I've tried lots of things, including bar soap. No joy. I'm hoping this stuff works well.

Bathroom mirror idea works, I use a drop of pot wash solution neat and polish it off with a dry micro fibre cloth, does the job great. Bathroom mirror on the other hand just gets a wipe with a soapy hand, the wife goes mad 😇
