Day 57 (yesterday)

My son's team played their 1st regular season game yesterday and won 14-13.

Major holding on this play (which was not called against us), but the refs were allowing a fair share of penalties to slide for both teams.

My son made his 1st solo tackle and had to fight off a blocker to get the ball carrier. Proud dad moment!

Someone missed the extra point? Or they scored 2 field goals and a touchdown? Or 3 safeties and a touchdown? Or 2 safeties a field goal a touchdown and a missed extra point? Didn't realize there was so many ways to score 13 points until I start thinking about it.;)

Correct.. Both teams scored 2 TD's. My son's team converted both extra points. The other team converted 1 of their extra points but my son's team stopped them in the backfield on their 2nd attempt. Very exciting game! :D

My Sunday at the beach. A photo essay by Tom Grove...

My family and I went to the iconic Ocean Beach Pier in San Diego...

Anthony found someone to play football with him while mom (who refused to allow her image to be posted pffffft) sat in a beach chair and eventually got sun-burned.

I went onto the pier to see the surfers. The weatherman said there were going to be at least 10' swells and plenty of rad surfing to be had... So I found the surfers patiently waiting for this promise of wealth in waves to cascade upon them...

I spotted several birds along the way...
