Tokina 12-24 f/4 or 11-16 f/2.8

I will not knock the Tokina lens. They are great lenses. I just like the Sigma a bit better and it is in the same price range. The Sigma kind of fits between the two Tokina lenses, and I wanted to get the widest angle I could without getting into a fisheye. You can do a search by lens type on Flickr to get a feel for it.

I take it the newer Sigma 10-20 f3.5 is a lot better than the original 10-20. Before I bought my Tokina 12-24, I tested both lenses on my D200 (back when we actually had brick and mortar camera stores) and the Tokina was significantly sharper than the Sigma. I would really love the extra 2 mm on the bottom end of the Sigma so what do you mean by the Sigma fits between the two Tokina Lenses?

I like it. I feel it is a sharp lens that works well on my D7200... as for my comment about it being between the two Tokina lenses. That was just dain bramage. It goes a bit wider on the bottom compared to both Tokina lenses and is in between the high end of the 11-16 and 12-24. Sorry for not being more specific... But again.

Little late to the party, but I just returned from a trip through Arkansas and had a chance to use both. I own the 11-16 and a friend had the 12-24. I found that I used the extra stop quite a bit in the very shaded areas that I was in most of the time. The D500 low light capabilities made the 12-24 almost as usable though. I prefer the 11-16 because I use the 11mm end so much, but I would get a 12-24 for the extra reach if I found a great deal. I don't think you can go wrong with either.
