New to using 500pf on D500 - used with 1.4 TCEiii for first time yesterday. The reach is great and the speed of focus amazing but I am having some trouble finding the subject (birds - often in flight) through the viewfinder. I have been practicing regularly and have found that switching from my instinctive left eye to my right and trying to keep both eyes open - and using bb focusing helps. But I am wondering what people think of using a dot sight? I’ve seen conflicting opinions on line. In some ways it seems a good idea, but on the other hand goes against the idea of a single lens reflex system - where you see exactly what you are shooting.
