This little bar is the bane of my existence.

If you own a DSLR and have never read a manual then you should be barred from asking any questions about your camera or any other until you do. Do you have to read every manual? No. But you need to read one. The only exception is the Sony A6000 which merely lists everything your eye can see and does not explain anything (apparently there's a better one they do not include in the box but you can download the PDF).

Is there fluff and more than obvious stuff in there? Yes. But the keys to unlocking your photography (which is why you bought the thing, right?!) are all in there, at least by way of introduction. And for god's sake, if you can't be bothered to read it at least download the free PDF and do a cursory search in it for the answer to your question. It's what most of us wind up doing for you since we don't own that camera. It's called learning, and when we stop learning we start dying.
I didn't read the manual, but I did read d5200 for dummies. Does that count?

A reader here too. The really convenient option with the pdf version is the (find), it is under the edit tab. And all the page numbers are direct links except with the older maulsa I guess. The D700 pdf does not link to pages. The guy I bought the D700 from liked the paper one cause he did a lot of outdoor activities away from home. Both digital and paper are good all the way around.

On work station and laptop, I keep a user's manual folder on the desktop. There are manuals to anything I get and some I don't end up getting. Welder, refrigerator, stove, clothes dryer, well you get the idea. I have a bunch of em.

I downloaded the PDF had it printed 8 1/2 x 11 & spiral bound at Office Max and read it.

I use to laugh when I saw large print copies of Readers Digest when I was a kid. Now that I am older, it's not Funny !!!!
