Sorry to hear you were the one that got a bad one?
As I said I have two of them (one for more then a year)I have had no problems at all with either one.
I have one on my D200 & on my D7000. Hopefully you get itworked out.
Does you camera work ok now that you removed the grip?

Camera seems fine. It's only when I attach the grip that it goes haywire....weird.
I'll tell you something...now that I've seen and held my camera with the grip, it's going to be
hard for me to wait a few weeks for a replacement knowing what I'm missing out on.:D

Send it back & give it another go...lol. It must of been a lemon. As I said I have one on both my cameras and they work great! Linkdelight has great service and they will replace.

I got the one with the wireless trigger, grip itself is awesome, but the wireless trigger shoots about 1/3 of the times I trigger.

I have been looking at the Zeikos at B&H photo and the (Neewer) grip through Amazon. What brand is this? I really am interested in prolonging the battery length. It seems unfortunate that Nikon makes you take the grip off to recharge the internal battery, but oh well

Go with Linkdelight, I have gotten two grips from them and they are great.
You can't go wrong with them, great service as well.

So the company that you recommend is Linkdelight.com but who is the 3rd party manufacturer? I have also seen the Neewer on Amazon and the Zeikos at B&H.

OK I am trying to wake this dead thread up!!
When folks were talking about the 3rd party grip controls being "backward" did you reverse the direction of the command dials on your D7000? I did reverse my command dials so when I turn the from dial for my aperture to the right I am opening the aperture and if I go left I am stopping it down. This is the opposite of what Nikon does by default..

So I bought a Meike grip from link delight.com and it is "backward" for my use. So.... IF you are a shooter who uses the default dial set up this would be correct for you. Is there anyone out there whose 3rd party grip would suit my needs? Can we discuss a trade?????
