Marcel, you get it from Linkdelight, right? They are a great company to deal with. I have a few things coming from them.
Hope to get it tomorrow or Thursday (before the postal strike).

Yes I did get it from them and the service was super fast (it took just a little more than 2 weeks including customs). So I'm happy.

Glad to hear you received such good service. Linkdelight is a great company to pick up small third party parts (lens caps, battery grips, cases, etc.) at half the price.
I have dealt with them many times and have not had one problem.
I have a weather case and a couple lens caps coming right now.
You can also pick up great lighting supplies, such as diffusers, stands, studio lighting, etc.
So they are really worth checking out J.

Marcel, I am curious to know if the grip you got from Linkdelight is the same as the one I ordered from another company. If you check on my older post you will see a picture of the grip and the box it came in. At the time Linkdelight did not have the grip in stock for the D7000. So I had a friend in China that got it for me from another company, I just wonder is it was supplied the same manufacture

My box is exactly the same one as yours. So I would guess that yes, it came from the same supplier. From your other pictures, my grip looks the same too.

I guess if I would have waited a bit I might of saved a few bucks…lol
I paid $40.00 +$30.00 shipping with Fedex.
I contacted Linkdelight and they did not seem to have a date on when they might have the grip in stock. I had mine sent as a sample (not out yet on the market) but Linkdelight had them a couple weeks later…lol.

How long of a wait was it from the day your ordered to the day it was finally delivered? I just ordered mine today and just wanted to get some feedback as to to how it feels on the hands? How's the rubber? Sturdy? Heavy? Texture same as the camera? Any rattling(loose parts)? Does it move once it's attached to the body? Does it feel solid? All functions working?

Any info is muchly appreciated.

The grip feels very good, no it is very sturdy and feels great. You will be very happy with it. You will not be able to tell the difference between it and the Nikon (I have both). It should take about two weeks (Linkdelight will send you a tracking number). Don't worry you will be very happy with it. I have had mine for about a month and use my camera pretty much every day and it stands up very well (no wear on it). Once its on there it fits perfect, all the functions work great.
I have one on my D200 and have had it for over a year and it is just like new, very well made.

Thanks Curt! Would I have to pay any fees upon delivery? (i.e. "customs") I'm from Calgary.

No, it will come straight to your door, unlike UPS or Fedex which charges brokerage fees. Linkdelight sends it by post (just check on you tracking number) you will be able to track its progress.

I'm in Calgary, too, and I order from LinkDelight. It was Curt that put me onto them, if I remember correctly. Never had a problem with them at any time. They ship via post, so no extras to pay for.

Good to see a fellow Calgarian eh? Did you mean they ship thru Canada Post? I have a feeling it's gonna be a longer wait than usual since they're going on a strike. Oh well, I should've thought about that...

Hi,

I read some reviews of a third party battery grip (Meike brand) for the D7000 that has it's dials reversed or opposite.

For example in manual mode when you turn the dials towards the left it decreases your shutter speed and the aperature opens up, however on Meike grip if you turn the dial to the left it increases the shutter and closes the aperature. Is the grip from LinkDelight ok or reversed?

Thanks for checking and letting me know.

Just wondering how are everyone’s battery grip from LinkDelight holding up.
I couldn’t resist ordering one for my d7000 seeing what a good value it was. They even gave me an instant coupon for $2 off my order.
Paid a total of $52.99 and was delivered in exactly two weeks. The grip feels solid and the rubber parts matches the camera’s very nicely.
Now for the bad news…
It seems (to me) that there’s a problem with the electronics on the one I received, here’s why:
As soon as I installed the grip, the camera automatically set itself to the maximum aperture and shutter speed. The buttons on the camera become inoperable and the dials on the grip won’t adjust either the aperture or speed. Also, the auto-focus stays on hunting continuously without me even pressing the shutter release button.
It was kind of scary seeing the camera behaving erratically like this, so I immediately shut it off and took the grip off.
Before I pack it back up and send back, does anyone have any suggestions or insight on why the camera is behaving like this? There has to be a problem with the grip in my opinion.

Did you use the battery that came with your camera, or a third party battery?
I have heard that some third party batteries make your camera go crazy?
I have two battery grips from Linkdelight and they work great, no problem.
But I do use Nikon batteries (the ones that came with the camera.

Hi Curt,
I actually did not put batteries on the grip. There's only one battery (original Nikon on the camera itself.) I really only want the grip to have a better hold of the camera while taking portrait shots. I've never used one before and really liked how easy I could hold the camera with it.
It's such a shame since it looks and feels nice! I must have just gotten a bad one.

Thanks for the reply:D
