The reason for all the hype on upping your game / lenses is from examining photos at one to one. If you use Lightroom and click on the photo, it expands the photo to one to one. This is where all the discussions about lenses occur. I care about sharpness at this level for future viewing. But for the most part, this size doesn't matter. A lot of people come away with the idea that if you use exactly the same technic as before and you switch to a D800 your picture quality will go down. That is absolutely wrong viewing at any size equal to or above the full one to one of the photo you are comparing your D800 to. So for all practical purposes, your photos get better with no improved technique.... Improved technique... Things get even better. JD
