Re: The Other Day

Today I walked around to get some Hometown-shots. This cute Thai-dog was under a big tree using the shadow to keep himself cool. As he saw me, he opened his eyes and looked so lovely to me. I couldn't get away without taking a picture of him.

The lotus bud nearly ready to bloom, is perhaps the most popular offering in a Thai temple. It is often held while practicing meditation The bud of the lotus has become important in so much of Thai life.

The lotus flower represents one symbol of fortune in Buddhism. It grows in muddy water, and it is this environment that gives forth the flower’s first and most literal meaning: rising and blooming above the murk to achieve enlightenment. The second meaning, which is related to the first is purification. It resembles the purifying of the spirit which is born into murkiness. The third meaning refers to faithfulness. Those who are working to rise above the muddy waters will need to be faithful followers.

The grasshopper capture is cool... BUT... It is not that detailed, too small and a detraction from the main subject... I like teh bottles picture, I would crop out the "hopper" :)
