I wonder what price tag it will have. The 300mm f/4 PF comes in close to $2K. If the 500mm will be as good as the 300mm, then it would be phenomenal!
$10,297.
I saw that price listed in the article, but I'm pretty sure that is the price of their current 500mm f/4 lens. This will be an f/5.6 lens. I'm guessing the price will fall somewhere between the price of the 300mm f/4 PF and the price of their existing 500mm lens.

I can’t find the article right now, but I saw on a Japanese sight that it is likely going to be in the $4000 range, + or - ...

Price: US price will be around $4,000. According to converted from the leaked Asian price, US price will be $4,300.
That looks like very good value in this day and age.
It's IQ will have to be superb to make it a lens to compete with Nikon's 200-500mm f/5.6 zoom.

Or compete with the Nikon 300mm f/4 coupled with a 1.4 teleconverter. Sure, this combo isn't quite as long but is still spectacular.
Great initial impressions from Steve:
The Function button in the front will be great for focusing. Looking forward to this one!
