The end is near for the D7000

When I bought my D7000, the D300s and D7000 were pretty close in price if I recall. I think some of the features of the D300s like the AF system, 7fps, full weather sealing etc. Would make a nice D7100. I could see the D300s leaving the lineup. Eventually the D600 will come down a bit in price for consumers to just buy it instead of a D400. As we all..... Speculate! lol

I believe the D7000 has equal weather sealing of the D300(S), but the subframe is not 100% metal, but a mixture of metal/plastic which makes it lighter, maybe a bit less tougher.

I do agree if the 7100 ups the focus to 51, bracket depth, Exceed 3, increased buffer depth, then the need for a D300s pretty much disappears.
