Thanks/Likes

I'm not sure what that means as far as popularity goes?

Nothing BUT it does show a nice spread between them which is a good thing. Mine have a big spread in them but I get a lot of likes for threads I have set up and also because I am a moderator. Not always because someone likes my photos.

But I recently told a photographer friend of mine to quit "liking" my photos on Facebook unless he really did actually like the photo.

"Thanks/Likes" for me, are just for fun... I don't put a lot of emphasis on giving "Likes" and I don't put much emphasis on getting them, either.

Actually I want "Like" all photos cos the photographer or member tries to show us the best I did at this time he took. Also seeing other parts of the world makes every photo likable. Then there are photos which just amazing captured, composed, etc. Some photos I wanna like double cos they are outstanding.

I think a like is as same as for an actor the applause. You can live without but you feel appreciate what you did when you get a feedback. This can can be words, applause or likes, etc..

BTW, thanks for all the likes I got. I am a positive man and I feel that the likes I got are truly likes from the heard

I personally would not consider likes as an indication of quality since there's a huge social component to it. If you like me, you'll probably like my shots more, if you dislike me, you probably will dislike my shots.

Thanks is just being polite.

I don't believe that is that true. One member here I don't like the way he writes or responds, but I like his shots so I like some photos he posts.

In another webboard there is a section where peole post their best photo anonymity (I don't know how the software can do), and people can give their feedback without knowing who is the photographer. That is pretty cool.
