I just wanted to thank everybody on this forum for being friendly. There are other photography forums that seem to make a point of embarrassing & intimidating newbies. Some are downright nasty. So it has been nice to actually participate instead of lurking.

Unfortunately too many new people stick their head in, ask a question, and leave. It's nice when someone joins and participates in the forum. Take Bill16, post above this one. Not sure when he joined but over time I have seen huge improvements in his photos and he has learned to do what he was told is too difficult. When he was given advise on how to do it versus why he couldn't do it he grew immensely.

Welcome again.

Couldn't agree more. It's a pleasant place to see and learn. Depth and generosity of knowledge is great. Thanks!

That is why I joined a while back. I think My enjoyment in my photography has really grown. We try to keep it friendly and helpful. I think the majority of the members here love their Nikons and more than that they love photography.

I agree with everyone, I was nervous getting on this forum because photography is new to me. I know guns instead of cameras. I thought that I would be intimidated by the users. I was way wrong. Everyone has tolerated my generic basic questions.

We all have to start somewhere. This was the first Photography forum I joined and I'm glad I picked the right one. I joined about 2 1/2 years ago and it has helped me immensely. I had a lot of experience with film, took a long break and jumped back in with a D3100 and this forum. From there I rejuvenated my love for photography and depleted my savings account. This forum has become a great break from a stressful job and a way to meet people with similar interests all around the world. There are many great people here willing to share their experiences and knowledge for a very reasonable rate :).

Happy Shooting!

It's an excellent forum. My primary interest is small product photography and while I'm unable to share most of my work product on a public forum (yes, the US being a nation of lawyers the majority of my clientele retain all rights on an unconditional basis and I don't encourage competition) the open attitude of everyone sharing technique, equipment knowledge and experience with Nikon and third party accessory products is very refreshing.
