I am not too savvy BUT... I have been playing with LR4 and like what i see. It will easily adjust exposure and many other things. You can download a demo (fully function) good for 30 days and there are a ton of How To video's on youtube. I am working wioth the demo now..

Not only are there tons of videos on Utube, Adobe has an extensive library of video and tutorial instructions on using LR and PS. In fact, there's so much free information out there that you really don't need to buy a book or pay for an on-line school.

lynda.com is a great online resource for software. Check it out and pay for the subscription, there is even DSLR and video tutorials.
