Test for Fake Memory Cards

Watch all the add-on windows when installing or you will be changing all your search engines, home pages and adding a bunch of other things. I don't think I have ever seen so many extras being added. I am about to try it out now and the program itself looks great. Just watch the install and read the screens as you install.

My error, I downloaded the MiPony installer and that was where all the addons were. That is what I get for doing this when I was not fully awake.

yes, lots of fake gear on ebay,, like remote releases, lens caps, etc, but more and more sophiscated fakes and not surprised at all on the memory cards, a quick labeling, and you can sell slower cards for higher speed cards,

I buy my cards once a year on sale at best buy or stables during the black friday sale. The prices are great.

I agree, there are a lot of "fakes" out there but sometimes these "fakes" are just smuggled out of the same factory that is making the official version of the item. In China it's pretty easy to report that you made 10,000 units but really make 15,000 and sell the 5,000 extra directly without the company knowing they were ever made. I'd estimate you have a 50:50 chance of buying a fake that is fake only because the branding company isn't getting any money for it. I often wonder whether or not the warnings against fakes are more propaganda than actual warnings....but what do I know?

I can't get past the optimum installer crap that wants to put a ton of stuff on my computer. I told it no and I'm still getting optimize my computer. I think the fake cards are as much of a scam as this program.
Now to clean all the crap up now on my computer. I STRONGLY sugest to anyone considering installing this program to think twice. I hate this stuff.

I hate it when programs do that. I consider it an invasion of my computer. If I want a stupid toolbar, or whatever they want to install, I will get what I want, not what "they" think I want. Jut my $0.02.

If you're talking about Jack's link then all it takes is 3 clicks and then extract the zip file. The actual program doesn't even need to be installed it runs independently. No extraneous programs or config changes. Of course these websites (including CNet's downloads) are a different story. It's no secret they're designed to make you click on the wrong thing (thinking that you're downloading a specific program). Let's face it, clicks = cash to these websites (in some form or another). Chances are you downloaded the 7zip program or something similar. It stinks that they resort to that but I just pay a bit more attention and continue to enjoy free useful software.

I'm running this program on all my cards. No errors found, thankfully. AND surprisingly I found out that some cards that I thought were slower are actually faster so this helps me in how I distribute them amongst my cameras. Thanks Jack.

All it downloads for me is the optimum installer and now I have Flo in the upper right of my screen and an AOL toolbar. Time to clean again.

Haha... sorry you're having a hardtime with it. Could be browser version or something. I just click the Download just above the "or add to download basket"

Then I click the "softpedia secure download (US) zip"

New page loads and I get a prompt for OPEN, SAVE or SAVE AS.

I save it to my computer, extract the file and voila.

If you're doing it another way you might be falling into their clicks for cash trap.
