Finally joined the 70-200 club this week. Purchased from my local store - ProCam

Hit the local rink to take a few quick shots last night, I really like how it feels, not too heavy. Looking forward to this one!

enjoy! my friend I work with who shoots with D4s's owns 2 (yes 2) 70-200VR2 and recently bought this lens as well. he enjoys using it more than the nikkors. no shitting.
1 VR2 died after 5 years of heavy use. mainboard vr and mount needs replacing. the other is less than a year and focus isnt accurate anymore. rubbers on both are worn out already. im happy to see tamron/sigma stealing nikons sales. they are no longer leaders anymore. from what tamron and sigma are bringing, they are all in the same group as far as im concerned.

Thanks. After scouting used VR1 models and researching many reviews, this seems like a solid buy and just what I need.

I almost bought one too...just saw a minty one on ebay couple days ago $900. I mean it is better in every objective category than the Nikon VRII but half the price. Seems like an awesome choice to me. I don't need a fast telephoto zoom now though but if I did I would get the Tamron unless I found a VRII for a really crazy price!

The last two lenses i have purchased have been the Tamron 24-70 F2.8 and the Tamron 150-600mm and I am very happy with both. I have four Nikon lenses but I am fast turning into a Tamron fan!!!

Shock and Awe

The 70-200mm f/2.8 is my first Tamron and I'm shocked at the gorgeous IQ this lens is turning out on my D750. Shocked and possibly awed... Quite possibly.

In fact, let's just go ahead and say both. Shocked AND awed.
