anyone here with experience using either of these. I have a need to travel really light. Now I need a little help in making a choice!

I upgraded from the nikon 18-200 to the 18-300 have never had to use the extreme long end. This lens does have heft to it. Another issue is barrel distortion at the short end so for those into architecture may not work out
