Switching Lens in Field

I've been changing lenses on these things for a good few years albeit not as long as some who have already answered. Apart from facing the camera down and the lens until the two parts come together that's all the precautions I take. I do it as often as I need without any worry. My wife has been doing the same for a similar time.

Our D300 cameras have never suffered from excessive dust, they're cleaned infrequently and the odd spots are removed in post. I used the rocket blower the other day which was a novelty.

Basically use it and don't worry. Unless you're in a very dusty environment like a sandstorm it will not be a problem.
