Switched from Canon to Nikon, choose my new setup!

Welcome to the forum, and Nikon! The only one of the mentioned lenses I have any experience with is the 70-200 f2.8, which is an awesome lens and I hear it is more or less essential at weddings etc. When it comes to buying the VR-I or VR-II, I believe the VR-I pre-dates FF bodies, so while it isn't "Incompatible" it may well be soft around the corners etc. I bought the VR-II second hand and saved a fortune, it's built like a tank so a few scratches on the body don't matter.

Since you are investing heavily in a short space of time, it could be worth getting the body, and then hiring a few lenses and trying them out.
