My first images, that I thought were good, were actually too dark when I put them into Affinity. I went back out 2 times to try to get another decent shot, and by that time, the moon was so high that I couldn't get the camera to tilt enough to focus on it. I have an injured shoulder and almost killed myself and set-up trying to tilt the entire tripod. I gave up when me and the entire set-up almost ended up on the ground. I posted mine in the moon shot thread.View attachment 304579
In my haste to get as much focal length by adding 1.4 tele to a 300mm on an older D300 crop camera, I was beyond any auto focusing and our position here was straight UP on a tripod, it's hard to manually focus laying on your back in 40º weather...
I am guessing you have a little motion blur as well. The moon moves quickly through the FOV. I think the recommendation for normal shooting is over 320th/sec. The atmosphere was unstable as well, we just didn't have good shooting conditions for moon shots.
