Subfolders in folders in Launchpad on Mac 10.9.1?

I feeling this is a no unless any of the inmates can tell me how. By example, I have a Photography folder. Within that I want to make a subfolder to drop in the Google Nik stuff. I can;t do it in the usual way (by moving one icon over another to create a subfolder) and online reveals nothing of any use.

Try this - To create and organize folders on your Mac using Launchpad, open Launchpad then hold down the Option key and while your apps are shaking you can create and organize them to desired folders.

Or try this.

  1. Open launchpad
  2. Open folder
  3. Place cursor over title
  4. Hold down CMD key
  5. Click once on mouse on trackpad
  6. Replace text
  7. Simples...

No! What I want is this:

Launchpad
...App 1.1
...App 1.2
...Photography (folder)
......App 2.1
......App 2.2
......Nik software (subfolder)
.........App 3.1
.........App 3.2
.........App 3.3
.........App 3.4
......App 2.3
......App 2.4
......App 2.5
...App 1.3
...App 1.4

Does that make sense?

Yeah makes sense but not sure if you can do that with out some coding, maybe a mac forum can help you better.

I just created a Photography folder and dropped and dragged photoshop into it. But I am unable to create a subfolder in that folder.

This was done via Teamviewer and like you would on an iphone, drag the icon over the other icon until it shakes then drop it in and click on the name and change the folder name.

Quality is crap as I am 250km's away from my iMac.

Thank you. That seems to confirm it.

I know Oz is quite large but your patch is a tad on the humungous size. But I suppose you need to cover all 15 people!

I don't know - can't find that as an option, and there's nothing visual to indicate that it is. I can add and remove items at will.

When you open your newly created folder, if you right click in it the option of new folder should pop up... If not then maybe your folder is locked. To see if it is, right click on it and examine (sorry I don't know what the wording in english since my Mac is french).

I don't have my mouse attached at the moment so can't click left and right. I'll check it out tomorrow. Thank you!
