Stunning Celebrity Portraits Taken at Vanity Fair's Oscar Party

I'm not one to watch the Oscars or any other show of the genre. I followed this link tonight and saw some great portraits, figured I'd share....

======

Did you catch last night's Oscars? If not, here's a quick recap. Jareto Leto and Lupita Nyong'o gave two eloquent and moving acceptance speeches, Ellen (or rather Bradley Cooper) took a celebrity-filled selfie that broke Twitter, and Leonardo DiCaprio didn't win..again. Of course, the real excitement of the night wasn't at the actual award show but instead was at the after-party hosted by Vanity Fair.

Photos, yes! Stunnig? No, just a regular studio-photo session. Nice looking woman this Mis Vergara, oh yes! And a good-old Sam L. Jackson (what an actor!).

I blame this look on Instagram and all those filters that people use to cover up bad photographs.

And I agree about Donatella Versace. That is one scary "person?"

Vice president of the high-fashion brand Versace, Donatella, 54, has gone through a series of surgeries since the 1990s. Among other adjustments, her most noticeable changes have been to her nose and lips, and her trademark swollen smackers have scored her a spot on nearly every list of plastic surgery faux pas over the past few years—though there's no real published evidence that Versace herself is unhappy with the changes. Uh...I wouldn't call these stunning. They seem too over processed to me. Bill Muray's photo almost made him look like he needs to be on a dollar bill. Some of the shots did not seem that flattering to me. There almost seemed to be a harsh nonhuman quality to them. Almost like they wanted to create a painting type look but just didn't quite get there.

I like most of the poses, but the overall quality and finish looks crap. I'm no portrait photographer (I have never taken a single one!) but as others have said, these look like they were taken with out of date polaroid film.

My tip of the day - Correct the white balance!
