This may be a very basic question but do you ask the people that you are photographing if they give your their permission? I've never done Street photography but have the opportunity this weekend at a local fair. Just was wondering if anyone objected to you taking their photograph.

I would like to say 95% I ask before I shot. Then I will tell them not to look in the camera and that they should continue their things they just did. 3% I asked afterwards showing them the photo.

2% are some candid shots.

The % I used now is an estimated guess.

I don't have any problems going towards to people. In my hometown is not easier or more difficult than I do streets in Bangkok or other cities. Is just something I like doing and people see I love it. What I don't like doing is taking photos from homeless, beggars, etc. I rather help them with something I am able of.
