I took a few pictures of the Humber bridge a while back, and didn't get around to processing them so I sat down last night and went through them, including one taken waaaaaaaay back in 2012, just after I got my first Nikon!

The Humber bridge was the longest single-span suspension bridge in the world for 16 years when it opened in 1981. Humber Bridge - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

From the north bank

And from the south..

And here is a re-edit of a shot I took back in 2012. Even though I used a tripod, there is some vibration from the very strong November wind on that night... I have never felt cold like I did while taking this shot!

Here's a few more older re-edits... There's something about bridges at night that I like! lol

These are the Fourth bridges, at Queensferry, just north of Edinburgh in Scotland.

Firstly, the road bridge...

And the rail bridge..

I have only crossed it to get the photos from the other side! The north bank viewing area is a nice spot to visit on a nice day. :)

Another re-edit...

Back to the Forth road & rail bridges, this time together at sunset.

Its entirely possible that by the end of this week, Scotland could have decided to become an independent country and to leave the UK. Being English, I don't get a vote, but I hope they stay in the UK.

This is Black Market Jewellers in Whitby, making stuff from Jet Jet (lignite) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia The shop is very small, and the sales counter is right next to the workshop, so you can watch the craftsmen making items and restoring antiques. I grabbed this shot while I was picking up some cuff-links for my Dad for his birthday.

Two versions, not sure which I prefer...

I was going to say I love the train, then I saw the weather coming in - then I saw the road …
then I saw both jewellers.
How much "love" can I have?

Great shots Steve.

Both beautiful but I prefer the b/w version. Looks a bit mystery somewhere in a backroom. Great Photo

Thank you both!
I owe a lot to Mr Horoscope Fish who instructed me to buy Nik tools! Every so often, I go back and use it to re-edit a previous photo.

Steve the color version for me,until you see the modern trappings in there it could be an old painting

lol Thanks Mike, I thought that too... the lamps & the "Utterly Butterly" tub give it away... It's a great shop to visit if you are ever up in Whitby, they do seem to stick to traditional methods, with everything totally hand made.

I wish you hadn't mentioned Nik tools - I was thinking about that the other day and was hoping the thought had passed.

I was the same Lawrence! There is so much to it, I have just scratched the surface with them but love the effect it can give certain shots. I'd advise to only start the trial if you have the room on your credit card, because you WILL buy the set!
