I've been looking into possibly even buying this little beauty I just found.

Looks like it could. Work for a lot of different settings including my macro photography.. What is your essential accessory lighting tool?

looks interesting. WB is the biggest problem with leds and how powerful is another. dont do macro so not an issue for me. for everything else, I have 7 different flashes. looks like a cute toy. aputure is a known 3rd party MFR. seems ok.

When ever I see a product that catches my eye, the first thing I look at is the price. From there I read the reviews and go from there. I've never been a big fan of cheap selling products that are questionable as to whether their worth it or not. Reviews on this are to me so so because when reading the reviews, they also give you an idea what kind of person wrote the reviews. If you do get this unit I'd be interested as to how it works and what you think about it.

It seems like an intriguing option, but it says it works with a flash trigger so I'm guessing that would be one more item needed to order for it to work properly.. What do you use?

I have a similar thing and although at first I liked it I get better results with my onboard flash and diffuser.

I've got one as well and it's been relegated to the "when I want a ring around the pupil in a portrait" box. It would have worked well for snow flakes with my macro lens, but that didn't materialize, even with all the snow we had this year. Go figure.

From reviews I have read some of the lens adaptors have bad threads, you may want to check, also not real bright form the same source.
