Sony a9 Specs Revealed!

I'm testing my CP filter now and while it doesn't affect the actual DR the cam can capture, it does seem to affect the DR of the scene I shoot. That much I'm actually wondering if I should use one for macro and birding too. It might remove those annoying contrast fringes. It seems worth the stops of light.

Well for that price and what I shoot alot of which is action and grandkids running around. i believe the D750 is a much better deal.
I myself don't need or want all those MP.
24 is just fine with me.

to be honest.....I'll wait until I see what the lab tests say....but I'm happy with 24 mp. I really don't think it'll be humanly possible to see the difference in dynamic range if we're strictly talking megapixels. 4 fps on the other hand is dirt slow.

First off, i have checked some of the more popular "rumor" sites and i have not seen this posted, so that tells me that perhaps the rumor source is not so credible. With that being said, it is but a rumor. Not sure why some folks have to point out the obvious here, which is that this camera would not be aimed at the action/sports people. Really?? I had no idea :stupid: And why is 4fps for a 46mp camera bad? D810 does 5fps with 36mp. Take a look at some of the Phase One cameras with 2fps. Anyone who thinks the rumored specs suck, you are not Sony's target market. I can see Sony wanting to beat up on the Nikon D8XX cameras with the A9 or try to eat away at some of the medium format market with this. It's quite obvious that they are not aiming at any sports or action shooters. Not every camera is thought up for action/sports photography like it is the only form of photography around, just like every car is not made to do 202mph. Different tools for different applications folks.

Maybe if Nikon keeps it's head in the sand long enough, mirrorless will go away. It amazes me that Nikon can make great mirrorless cameras (N1 line) but they are just sitting on their hands.

I like their little N1 cameras. I almost bought my wife one, but i was to late and missed the sale that was on. On the other hand, they really can not compete with the APS-C mirroreless cameras that are out now or even the micro 4/3 cams. Nikon lost the plot some years ago. I truly believe that Nikon can make a killer mirrorless camera, but for some reason don't want to. Same goes with Canon. It seems they are scared of hurting their bread & butter products, DSLRs. They better wake up soon or else they will just kill themselves.

I think we have another Sony fan in the house!

How could one not be a Sony fan! They make amazing sensors that most all of us have enjoyed. I am not worried about them making a good 46mp sensor. I am quite sure it will perform very well. I only hope that they get everything around the sensor right.

Nikon has the know-how and experience to design and build the world's finest mirrorless camera. They choose not to. As in the past, they will end up playing catch-up.

Funny thing is out of all the prints I had at my last show, one from the N1 was my #1 seller. All my other work there was from Fx and Dx. I ran out of 16x20's taken by the little V2! The shot was a lighthouse taken from my kayak, which the V2 is perfect for.

And that proves that content is king!

They've got the IBIS covered now! I do want to see higher fps rates in the future....afterall, there is no mirror to wait on. Should be faster I would think.
