Someone's problem with Getty images

Sorry if this was previously posted--this happened a while back but is an updated story. A photographer was being sued by Getty for copyright infringement of her own image after she posted it on her web site--and also after she released some of her own images to the public domain.

Perhaps so for images actually distributed by them (?), but surely not for any unrelated use whatsoever of such public image that they do not own.

There is another serious suit where Getty had granted access to 47K images owned by Zuma Press. This one could easily bankrupt the bastards since Zuma is saying they are owed between $2500 & $25,000 per image, which averages out to about $700 million.

Good on her for taking it to them!

Their response was actually comical that they are a "library" service and the money they make is from making the content available to the masses ... I cant wait to see the outcome of this !!
