Some small accessories that really help to shoot better with the Zf

There are "cosmetic" accessories for the Zf which are very popular, but I have some that I classify as "functional", and some as both.

I'll start with a both type of accessory, a leather half-case with padded grip enhancement.

Why this item stands for using the camera is that the genuine leather provides more tack for the fingers than the leatherette material of the camera does. The padded front does actually enhance gripping. And this particular version wraps the leather around to the back side, and the edge of the case provides a place for the thumb to bite into and hold the camera just that much better. Pro-tip: I bent out the upper corner a bit so the thumb grips even more securely.

It appears that the 6 months since I bought this, the wrap-around style on the back might be out of stock at Amazon, but here's a link to the seller, it may reappear.

Next item is to solve a problem with the Smallrig grip attachment, or any of the other ones made out there. You get an Arca-type tripod mount on the bottom, but what about using in a vertical configuration? There is exactly 1 Zf L-bracket I have been able to find, but here's my solution.

Smallrig has a right-angle bracket that will quickly clamp on to this or any Arca-type dovetail.

It's pretty simple really. I did remove a plastic part that was supposed to manage cables (I think this is intended for video accessories). It just clamps to the bottom and you can turn to the portrait mode with a balanced tripod load. And as I illustrate in a photo, you can still screw in a cheap Arca plate and quickly move between the 2 modes if that is required. Kind of upsets the form in favor of function though.

Now that there is a solution for portrait-mode use, here is the solution for tethered photography in portrait mode. A USB-C right-angle adapter. This particular adapter comes in a 3-piece assortment with 2 other right-angle adapters of different configuration. This one fits the Zf perfectly, and lies flat to the body to give clearance to mount the camera vertically.
