The movements are rather gummy ... but not unexpected after sitting in a box for 60 years. The Soligor is immaculate with out a single scratch on it.
The Finest Japanese Medium Format SLR Of Its Day:
When the Kalimar Reflex appeared in 1957 (an upgrade of the short-lived Soligor 66, which was itself an incarnation of the Fujita 66; all were manufactured by Fujita Optical Company), it was Japan's only (although not first) 2 1/4 square SLR.
Hasselblad in Cheap's Clothing
The Kodak is German-made but unfortunately not one of the pre-WWII issue of 4,000 units. It has seen some wear, but not too bad. From what I can tell it is a type 016 released in 1951 but the manual has an update to a '53 date. As you can see from the original price tag the selling price was $149.50 back then ... definitely not pocket change! The reel of 20 exposure 35mm Kodak Tri-x 400 ASA film actually in the camera had a "develop by" date of JUN61.
The light meter is pristine.
And the 'gas mask' box is beyond cool!
