Picture was taken on a somewhat cloudy day from the sideline at my daughter’s soccer game. I like to take action shots during sports to get that wow moment captured. The player in the red and white jersey still looks a little blurry. Is there another angel or shot settings I could use?

It looks pretty good to me. I would crop it a little bit to focus on the two players, lower the shutter speed a little bit which will also lower your ISO level.

A nice moment captured here but there seems to be quite a bit of camera shake as it appears a tad soft. A crop as Glen suggested is a good idea there is too much background not contributing to the image. Next time I might suggest getting down lower, at or below their eye level, you might get your knees dirty but the shot will look better.

I doubt that it is camera shake at the shutter speed he was shooting at 1/4000 sec will pretty much stop any action/shake

Good point
I had another look at this image what I though was edge softness appears to be artefacts around the girls outline I suspect caused by sizing image for web.
The perils of viewing an image on your iPad....
